Price

Also known as: How Much It Costs

The price is the number you put on the sign, and you get to choose it.

Nobody tells you what to charge for your lemonade. You decide.

If you pick a very big number, some people will walk away. If you pick a very small number, lots of people will buy, but you might end up with less money than you spent on lemons. Both of those are real ways to have a bad day.

Picking a price is a decision, and it is yours.

Color this: write three different prices on three signs. Which one would you walk up to?

For the grown-up holding the crayon box:

Price as a decision rather than a given is the single most useful idea in this glossary. Adults inherit prices from competitors and then wonder why the margin is thin.
